Weird Happening
« on: January 17, 2011, 08:16:36 PM »

100% WEIRD!!!!  Today I could not get on the internet plus WeatherBug could not find it's server.  I know what to do:  Shut down computer, unplug modem and router, wait 3 minutes.  Plug modem and router in, restart computer.

Opened AHP and what shows up - the screen to put your code in to verify you own AHP.  Which I had already done.  Strange but true.

Dan... could you have interupted an update? That's sorta what it sounds like happened.... to me. Could have been Microsoft, or a anti-virus software, or other software... But most likely MicroSoft.

Many of the current updates... stress older PC's and can/WILL make them appear as frozen. In Vista and 7... a restore point is automatically created before such updates... so a restore should correct things. But if your running an old XP... you may have to manually recreate a few things (like the AHP registry codes). I would change your processes for future use... and only correct exactly what needs corrected/restarted.

No to all of that.   I am running XP but the box is packed with RAM.   Even MS tells you about an update, same with McAfee.

Well... If your sure you didn't miss an update in progress.... I guess your PC could have succumb to Zombie control. What do you see as the list of options?

Nothing.  Just mark that up as one of the weird things that happen.
