Need an Audiophiles help.
Been just living with this and really wish to fix it.

I use BVC with microphones and speakers setup at my PC and in the living room.

I'm using an Appliance Module to power on/off the speakers in the living room. When
turning 'off' the speakers, I get a loud 'pop'. Can this be corrected?

you using a set of PC speakers?  Might be the amplifier circuit discharging it's caps on power down, or something from the app. module discharging.  I'm not sure I can offer any ideas short of something that isn't very safe to do.  If the PC speakers are cheap, why not try a different brand. 

try putting a cube tap on the appliance module and plugging a nite light into it as well as the speakers, then report back with the results.

I agree with Knight, try what he has suggested. However a test for answer to your question is: When your speaker amp is powered from the Appliance Module, yank out the plug from the module, if you get the pop, the answer is NO, it can't be corrected using you current amp.

Bummer  no -go. I tried. 
The system is a typical Amp/small Sub and 4 satellite Speakers.
I think my father in-law paid decent $ for it, albeit some time ago.
The sound is great. Just the loud 'plop' when I power it off when switching rooms.

All in all my little system works good. I use Rocketfish 2.4 Ghz Wireless Trans and Receiver to pipe the BVC audio
from PC to Living room.

The noise may be coming from a power spike caused by the disconnection of mains power.

You could try a couple of things:

1) are you able to turn down the volume of the amp before turning it off?
This could be done via a IR sender using BVC.

2) You also may be able to put a choke on the speakers wires that will help lower the noise of the discharge. You local electronic shop ie radio shack should be able to supply you with one.

Just had another thought - is the noise coming from the sub woofer or the speakers.
try to work out which one is the offender.

or if its all of them - them go back to my other suggestions.

Yes, it is 90% the Sub that 'thumps' when I power off via the Appliance Module.

It has a wired Volume control knob and that is how you are suppose to turn it on/off.
 
Keep the thoughts coming. I am not opposed to opening things up and soldering if there is in fact a fix.

Wife giggles every time.
