I created this macro (my first)

Trigger Conditions 1 Front Door - Sensor Triggered and
1 Front Door is Open
End Trigger Conditions
Turn Hall Lamp ON
WAIT for 30 Seconds
Turn Hall Lamp OFF

The Hall Lamp is not activated.  Any help will be gratefully appreciated

That reads... to me... that the front door sensor (I am guessing that's outside) would be triggered as you approached the door.

The macro would then check the door sensor... and see the door WASN'T open. Condition would NOT be met.

Try having the 1st sensor turn ON a fake "monitored module" then make the 2 sensor trigger (look for) the conditions.

The 1 Front Door is the sensor on the front door.  I am attempting to have the light turn on when the front door is opened.  I thought that the sensor triggered function would start the macro when the door sensors status went from closed to open.  The status of the sensor would then be open and that would match the criteria.

I write computer program code but with X10 I am soooooooooooooooooo confused because I have not figured out the logic yet.

Still might be lacking some information:
If you are using AHP, what is the interface? CM15A, CM19A etc.
What is your front door "sensor"?
If a security sensor (DS10, DS12) you need "OnAlert" to receive the Security Sensor transmission.
Can you control the light manually from AHP?
Does macro activate light when you use the "run Macro" button?

- CM19A INterface (CM15A defective and not installed)
- DS10A Front Door Sensor
- OnAlert plug-in installed and registered
- LIght can be operated from AHP
- Macro does activate the light

Well that explains it!! The X10 macros are just way too simple for programmers to understand. The macros aren't real smart... just simple little steps. Is the PC/CM19A receiving the RF signals from the door sensor?

Yessir you did. You have laid to rest all my thoughts. I don't think I can help, other than to echo Dave X10's question about CM19A picking up the DS10 transmission.

FYI - the AHP interface does register the front door sensor as open correctly.

That's the test...if CM19 is receiving, it will show on activity monitor.

From your description, it seems like it should be working. I don't use AHP anymore and never used OnAlert so am bowing out, but if I were in your shoes I would look at OnAlert.

Don't leave. I am not sure what the users problem is... but I think you can likely figure this out as quick or quicker than I can.

bt54  have you looked at some of the user created macros here at the forum?
