XPS3 Wall Switch - Receiver
« on: April 24, 2011, 12:38:29 PM »

I'm using a XPS3 Wall Switch - Receiver to control a ceiling fan.  I notice that
if the ceiling fan is set to medium or high, I can turn it on or off with X10.  But
if the ceiling fan is set to low, I can turn it on with X10, but I cannot turn it
off using X10.  When I send the off command, it just clicks, but does not
turn off.  I have to manually go to the wall switch to turn it off.  I wonder why?

At low speed the fan motor is making enough noise. To make the am I On or Off sensor think it didn't turn off and it tried again.
Others have reported the samething. Sometimes using a resistor across the feed to the fan helps.
I believe 56K 1/2 watt is what many used.

You can go as low as 47K 1/2 watt safely wattage wise.
