Vanguard Power Supply
« on: May 15, 2011, 06:09:00 PM »

I want to hook up my Vanguard cameras on a long cable with video and power.  The Vanguard power supply doesn't seem to have the same plug end as any extended cable I can find.  Any ideas on what and where to buy to set this up?  Thanks Jesse (flflyer -at- comcast.net)

Which end, male or female? Assuming your problem is with the male end, you might try Radio Shark to see if they have the right size connector to replace the incorrect size on your extension cable. Also if you don't mind voiding your warrenty, simply cut the current cable in half and splice in what ever extention length you need (or buy a second power supply from X10 and splice it).

I looked at some of the photos in the FCC database that I believe are the Vanguard camera. VC21A?
XM15 Power Supply.

Does the power supply connector look close to what a PS2 style keyboard connector looks like?

The Vanguard has a plug that is 1.7 x 5.5 mm.  I have found some adapters that will work, but I was hoping not to have to cut and splice wires to get the length I need.

Yeah, good luck finding a pre made extension with that odd size connector.

Make your own. Here is a male, the small pin female might be a problem.

Thanks for the information on the DC connector.
The photos in the FCC database must be an earlier hardware version.
