SC1200 & Lamp Module & Power Horn
« on: June 15, 2011, 11:58:24 AM »

I read the SC1200 manual twice now but have a few more questions still.  ???

When the SC1200 is triggered it sends out an on/off to the two addresses that you set the SECURITY LIGHTCODES to.  Say for example I set mine on 1 and 2 since it's A = 1 and B = A + 1 = 2.

Q1: Module Codes
So on the lamp module there is a UNIT CODE DIAL and HOUSE CODE DIAL.
Is the module's UNIT CODE DIAL = SC1200 SECURITY LIGHTCODES?

What is the HOUSE CODE DIAL for?
I see letters on those codes (A, C, K, etc..)

Q2: Can I set two or more lap modules to the same SECURITY LIGHTCODE?
Say the SC1200 is set to 1 and 2 can I put 4 lamp modules on "channel" 1?

Q3: Power horns
I'm been reading on this board that the powerhorn has to be on one of the 2 SECURITY LIGHTCODES.  So same question as Q2.  Can I put multiple power horns on the same "channel"?

Thanks

Q1: Light Code in the SC1200 = Unit Code on X10 Modules. The Light Code can be set in the Options Menu of the SC1200.
In the Options Menu of the SC1200 you can set the House Code. Default is A and any module you want to have it control. Should also be set to match it. Again A is default. House Codes are a  part of the X10 address. Send a command to A and B-P House Codes ignore the commands.

Q2. Yes you can have as many X10 modules on the same address and they all will respond to the same command sent to the address.
Only thing would be an appliance type module. Will not respond to a bight or dim command as they don't dim like a lamp style module does.

Q3. Yes same thing. As many Powerhorns as you have can be set to the same address and all of them should be triggered at the sametime.

Side note. The lights On and Off buttons on the Keyfobs. Control the second address. Like default is A1 and A2. The keyfob buttons do A2.

Thank you!  :)%

I think I'm ready to order my kit!  Now it's just a matter of figuring out the best price via the various ebay, x10.com places I have seen it at.  Once I get it I'll post my "adventures of setting it up" and I'm sure I'll have more questions.  :'

There is lots of information in the X10 wiki on most of the modules. Including the SC1200A.
Manuals are also can be downloaded from the wiki pages.

Manuals also available on the X10 Customer Support Site.

You may want to check out some of the troubleshooting sites. Thay cover some of the typical X10 problams. Like phase coupling, signal suckers and noise makers.
