CM15A random turning on macros and timers
« on: June 26, 2011, 09:20:12 AM »

Last night my CM15A decided to run several random macros and timers in the middle of the night according to the activity log and actual. These macros and timers are suppose to run at dawn/dusk. The only change I did was plug in an AM466 module, two days ago, to something totally different that is not run on these malfunctioning macros/timers and the macros/timers didn't malfuction for the first two days. I'm running basic macros, smart macros is not installed.  Why would the CM15A all of a sudden decided 12:08 AM was dawn AND dusk? My CM19A never did this. What is the solution?

Is it possible the macros were triggered by signals coming from outside your home?
A neighbor, perhaps?
Did the Activity Log show that it received any commands?

What can trigger a macro/timer outside a home? Why would the CM15A pick them up and not the CM11A?  I meant to say the CM11A in previous post.

Yes, the log shows about 30 on/off commands during it's midnight run.  Including 6 dim commands in a row, one minute apart (one command is part of my macro).

In the log, was it showing RF Recieved or PLC Recieved?  Basically this will tell you whether or not the signals were coming from a remote or other RF device or a Powerline signal which pretty much means that the signal is probably coming from your house somewhere.  Just some basic troubleshooting for you.

Looking at the log, it all started with PLC transmit command.

Since there is no RF command, I would assume that the software or hardware might be at fault.  Does your Active Home Pro recycle bin need to be emptied?  I have had in the past certain macros that I deleted stay in the recycle bin (in the Active Home Pro not Windows) and cause problems.  Totally deleted the Active Home Pro recycle bin, clear the cm15 memory, then reload.  See if that helps.

When I clear the memory, hardware configuration still shows memory usage like it's not clearing.

When I clear the memory, hardware configuration still shows memory usage like it's not clearing.
The memory usage is calculated based on the program in the AHX file, not what's actually in the CM15A.
If you clear the memory, and then start a new AHX file, you should see the memory usage drop. (just to show my point, you shouldn't need to actually start a new file to fix the problem).

Wow, that explains a lot. So the AHP software has one way communication with the CM15a operating system.
How, and I am asking sincerely, HOW can I read the CM15a memory stack or get any tangible information to see what is really there.
Can I discharge brush the plug to get the system to loose memory and start clean?
I believe that there's programming segments hung in my CM15a as I have completely recreated my timers and out of nowhere (and I really mean nowhere) a module i didn't change codes on started getting commands.
I get that the function of the machine is to keep the memory in event of a power shortage but how long will it hold memory? My CM11a still seems to hold the original timers.

Try this:
Clear the memory (using AHP)
Unplug the CM15a from the wall and the USB
Remove the batteries.
Wait a few minutes, then put it all back together.

Also, don't forget to empty the recycle bin.
