Sc1200 obihai and google voice
« on: June 29, 2011, 06:10:43 PM »

I am using an obi VoIP device and google voice with my sc1200 security system.  When an alarm triggers it will call my cell phone, but there is no voice, just a dead line.  Isn't the security system supposed to tell me that it was triggered and ask if want to disarm it or something?  Also, I cannot call into the system.  It just rings and never picks up.  I know the call goes through (I hook up a phone to the same line and it works), but no answer from the sc1200.  Any ideas?

You mean it does not play the message you recorded in Option #4. When it calls your cell phone?

How long did you wait for the console to answer the phone?
The default Answer delay is a full thirty seconds. You can modify the delay in Option 8 Delays.

That would be on page 34 of the instructions. Recording your message is on page 22. What do you have your answer delay set to? Page 27.

If you plug a regular phone in the OBI does it ring?

Thanks guys.  I don't know how I missed that.   B:(. I read the operating from a phone page about 20 times thinking that info would be there.  Sorry, but thank you for the info.  This setup works great!
