Can an AHP Macro using an Address Set Off the ALARM on a DS7000
« on: September 02, 2011, 01:29:28 PM »

Hi all,
I want to set up a MACRO in AHP that would start the alarm when pushed.   It would essentially be the same as pushing the PANIC button on an ALARM controller, except it would use an ADDRESS on a Module Controller rather than a Security Controller.

Can AHP do this?

I have all the plug ins including Smart Macro and ON Alert.   I have the system configured to use the Door Sensors to trigger Macros, so that part works well.   The PC is on 24/7.

Thanks In advance.

Okay, I found the function.   Sorry for bothering the group with a dumb question.  It works perfectly.   This integration of the alarm system with the home control system is pretty amazing.   I can do things I never thought possible.   This macro is pretty simple.

When we come home, if something doesn't look right, we press a single button on our wired in controller that is installed by the front door.   That turns on the macro that sets off the alarm, rings multiple chimes, throughout the house, turns on all the lights, starts the autodialer, sends out e mail messages, and plays a Wave File at a loud volume.   I guess we could do almost all of these things if we just carry the alarm keyfob with us, but I like the single button approach with the wired in controller.

Cool idea but I feel sorry for the dog.

Mostly he's learned to ignore the chimes and lights when I'm testing the system.   And, actually, we have a button programmed just for the puppy.   When we go out for dinner and leave him at home, we press one button by the front door.   It arms the door sensors and the motion sensors in the rooms that he can't get to.   It turns off the music and all of the house lights, except for the entry door and the light in the room that the puppy stays in.   And, it activates the "Puppy Cam" in his room, so my wife can watch him on her cell phone while we are out.  Of course, we really don't need an alarm when he's home, so I don't know why I bothered....   At 18 pounds he has the loudest and deepest bark I've ever heard.
