Harware Interface Config cm11a
« on: September 08, 2011, 08:15:12 AM »

I am attempting to use ahp to program my cm11a.  To do this, I have installed a serial to usb converter - Y105.

When I fire this up and click on download timers and macros, a little bar appears on the lower left and after a couple of seconds, the program tells me that the download was successful.  But when I click on hardware interface config, it shows 55.66% for macros but zero for timed events and dusk/dawn.  Also the date is shown as 1/1/1601 at midnight.

Some of the timed events actually happen so something is going into the cm11a.  If anybody else is running this, do you actually see a number for timed events and dawn/dusk when things are working?

Thanks

In Tools Tab.
Did you select the interface CM11A and use the com port added by the USB to Serial adapter?

Are you using the latest AHP 3.316?

yes and yes.  When the com port is correct, does the main screen ever indicate that I am connected to the cm11a?  I always get the message that the timers and macros have been downloaded but the status numbers for timed events and dusk/dawn remain at zero.

If it is not finding an Interface. When you start AHP it will give a pop up message of no Interface found.
Also on the left lower taskbar you may see a interface icon with a round red circle and slash on it.

I setup a CM11A with my serial port.
Cleared the interface.
Made a small timer program. One appliance module on at 1:05 PM and Off at 1:10 PM.
Downloaded it to the CM11A.
Closed AHP.
It ran as written.
Open AHP.
Hardware Configuration shows NO Timer memory or dusk dawn memory being used but 2.4% Macro Memory.  :o
Maybe a AHP 3.316 problem with a CM11A.

It may just be that the CM11A memory was organized differently since it had very limited EEPROM. It's been a long time so don't take this as gospel but I believe the CM11A put macros and timers into one lookup table.

I don't know whether the CM11A programming specifications are still available anywhere but they explained the lookup table organization in it.

EDIT: It is still available...

The link is broken, but it is not anything you did.
I have had the same problem with the X10 FTP site and links to manuals.
Seems our forum software insists on adding a http:// to the start of the link.

You maybe correct on the memory mapping.
I have seen a few other odd things with AHP and a CM11A.

Strange - it was working when I posted but now it's broken for me, too.

Anyway, timers and macros were stored together with individual look-up tables at the start of memory. So, AHP may just be reporting the total EEPROM used rather than trying to break it down into the two categories.

That sounds logical for the AHP memory use display with a CM11A.
X10 has not given much information in the Help files when a CM11A is used.
