Super User Binary Update

Is it important to get SU updated? It won't update when it prompts me, I get an error, and that it's ok to use old binary.

This might not be the most satisfying answer, but it might help you out some:

I did noticed that a day or two after I started receiving those "out of date" notifications, Google issued a new version of Superuser.apk that lets you disable those alerts.

Just make sure you've updated to the latest version in the market. Load Superuser.apk. Hit the "menu" button. Then "Preferences." Then uncheck the box beside "Outdated binary notification."
