Help with socket rocket and cr12a remote

recently installed a recessed light added to my 2 kitchen lights. These 3 lights operate from a normal (non x-10) single pole switch---nothing fancy.
I want to control the recessed light usage, so I added a socket rocket to it to operate the PR30 CFL bulb. It will come one when I press ON on the remote, but it will not power off when I press OFF.

Any suggestions? I used this socket rocket previously with another CF bulb and both on and off worked fine.

As a test. Try a regular bulb. If it works. The bulb is making too much noise when On and keeping the Off command from working.
The socket rocket is not rated for a CFL, but many use them that way. So it sometimes is hit or miss with other than incandescent bulbs.
