Just to show I dont understand the interface between activehome and the CM15A - can this box be used to recieve all commands the CM15A does?  Might it have better range?

No it can not act like a CM15A but should receive RF devices better then the CM15As known weak reception.

It is a good device to receive RF commands from remotes, motion sensors and security devices. Also can do all 256 addresses {16 House Codes X 16 Unit Codes}.
It can not send or receive power line comands or send RF commands.
Can't have timers and macros downloaded to it and I doubt AHP would even see it as an acceptable interface.

I had started my Home Automation interest with a RCA gift pack, then a CM11A (with Active Home Software). Mostly due to my own failures... I wasn't impressed with the CM11A. But the CM15A [even with the poor RF reception of some of the units] was a game changer.

The CM15A packed a heck of a lot of technology into a plug-in module that generally sold for less than fifty dollars. I hope X10 finds a way to improve on a replacement device for AHP. I pray they bring the CM15A back.

There are a number of CM11A's available on eBay for much less.  Even the XTB-232 is cheaper than that.

Well I may have passed on gold when it was $500 an ounce.. and on stocks in early '09. But thank God I invested heavy into X10 modules and interfaces.

It is a CM11A serial port interface that also is not even close to what a CM15A can do.
The later revisions of AHP have been enabled to run a CM11A
I have seen an X10 vendor who bought a new production run from X10 of CM11As. Selling them for $29.99 and they still have 1875 units left.

Your post should have said "I found this RCA that works like the CM11A..
I don't SELL this stuff... BUT I sure do ENJOY using it!!!

X10 made two OEM labeled CM11A interfaces. Along with the one they sold.
RCA HC60RX
IBM HD11A

Brian.. I just ordered the CM11A for $29.99...
It was confirmed today with one of the X10 rep... they said they will never produce those CM15A anymore..
Sad but it is what it is according to them.

To me, that means they are either getting out of automation/remote control, or they are working on a replacement...which, to date, X10 has never hinted that was the case.

One of the independent X10 dealers has a web page of discontinued X10 products.
Some we know about other like Powerhorn sirens, fixture modules, security consoles and accessories. Surprised me.

Looks like they're still going to make the appliance module! YEA!!  :)%

Joking aside.... it doesn't look too good. All we can hope for is new ownership.... and a change in direction.
