Loud click from Appliance Module is normal. You can use Socket Rocket in porch lamp as long as it is protected from rain. 150W max bulb size.

The Smarthome Insteon and Icon appliance modules can have an X10 Primary Address added to them.
They do not clunk like an appliance module. They are more costly than an X10 appliance module.

Ok, hving trouble gettign socket rocket to work :(
Followed directions of turning on and off 3 xs, but still no workie :(

It works in a lmap in the other room for sure. and it def works with the cfl bulb, but when I move it to the porch light (and yes I did turn the porch light switch on), it will not work.
Nor does it work in outlet I am having trouble with in the bedroom.

Install the socket rocket into a lamp with no dimmer.  Turn lamp on.  Within xx seconds (3 seconds IIRC), press the ON button on a remote 3+ times until the lamp turns on.  Once it's learned the correct code, it should keep that code even if you remove the socket rocket from the fixture.

Your last post indicates you are pressing on-off-on-off-... which is incorrect.  Press on-on-on-on-... until the lamp responds.  Make sure you have JUST applied power to the module when programming as there is a short window where reprogramming is possible.

Sorry. I actually did get it to work in a lamp (2 actually).
It doesn't work in the porch light.

I got it to work in lamp midway thru last post.   Just won't work in porch light. Yes, I do have the porch light switch set to on.

Power line signal problems between the circuit the CM15A is using and the circuit the porch lights circuit.
You may want to look at the links I gave you in your outlet problem thread. For some tips.
Could be the porch lights are on the other phase of the wiring and may need a coupler repeater or there are signal suckers and noise makers needing filters.
