Led lighting
« on: March 18, 2012, 02:01:13 PM »

I have a track light that is controlled from a wall light switch module. I had a halogen bulb in it and tried to change it out to an LED. Now the light will not shut off - only dims. What can be done to correct this???

Is the X10 wall switch a dimmer type?
If it dims it most likely is also a two wire type that steals power through the load {light bulb}.
LED bulbs don't work correctly with them as they glow from the small current used to power the switch.
You maybe able to add a small regular light bulb. Like a 4 watt night light to allow the switch to get its power.

Is the LED bulb rated to be run on a dimmer and is dimmable?
If not it could be damaged by the X10 wall switch.
