How do I do this?
« on: April 06, 2012, 10:01:44 PM »

I am trying to use a PC/CM-15A to emulate a silent alarm system.
What I am trying to do is have my X10 window/door and motion sensors trigger an email telling me what is open.
Maybe a specific sensor can send me a picture from a specific camera - that would be a plus.

I have AHP with all the plugins, CM-15A and lots of window/door sensors.

What software can do this ???

Thanks!

You have Smart Macros?  You can trigger a macro from a sensor and have the email sent to you.  Pretty sure you don't need myhouse online.

I really like the floor plan diagram, with the activated sensors showing on the correct place on the map.  When I tried to do that several years ago, I failed miserably, and put all the hardware back into the boxes.

Has anyone successfully done this?

You'll have to get Tuicemen to chime in here, but I'm pretty sure the DS10's and DS12's won't "talk" to a SDK created program.  You could set up macros to "map" a security type sensor to an X10 address, but what I propose is more simplistic.  I use DS10's on my closet doors to turn on and off the closet lights via a macro in AHP.  I know for a fact that "send email" is included in the macro commands, but I believe you have to have the Smart Macros plug-in for AHP.

You have to tick the "use security" tab on the macro instead of the X10 address for a trigger.

I do have the Smart Macros plugin.

I was thinking of using the CM-19a instead of the CM-15a so that I could plug it all into a UPS.

Now I just gotta find a free weekend......   B:(

AHP will do this however you need the OnAlert ,Smartmacro and Myhouse plugins.
None of the SDK created programs can directly recieve security signals.
However PCC will display which security module tripped in the floor plan view.
PCC with the plugin pack app "Security informer" to create Batch files and trigger them with AHP Smartmacros and OnAlert.
I can't remember now if I added the option to email as AHP needs to be running for this and AHP could do it with the same macro.

OK, so I think I have all the hardware and software I need.

Now, as soon as the kids grow up and move out, I should have the time......   ;)
