uses a MS14A as day/night sensor

hi there...

i want to know how can i use a MS14A for turn on a lamp (LM14A) when it detects no daylight and turn off in the morning, no motion detect as needed...i have activehome pro...thanks in advance

The HawkEye and EagleEye Motion Sensors send Wireless Radio Frequency (RF) signals to an X10 Transceiver
(RR501 or TM751). The receiver then passes the signals onto your house wiring to turn on lights, appliances, or
X10 wireless cameras around your home. You plug your lights and appliances into X10 Modules (sold separately)

The MS14 Unit Code plus 1 is the code for dusk to dawn control.

Since you have AHP the CM15A should transceive the MS14As command back to the power lines or you could get fancy and trigger a macro from the MS14A

The motion sensor will send an ON command on the unit code you set into the motion sensor when it sees motion.  [Default A1]
The motion sensor will send an OFF command x minutes later, depending on the delay you set.

The motion sensor will send an ON command when it sees darkness on the unit code you set PLUS ONE.  [Default A2]
The motion sensor will send an OFF command when it sees light on the unit code you set PLUS ONE.

I use the MS16A, but the MS14A knowledgebase reads the same.  It is automatic, no setting required.

how can i create a macro, i dont undestand how to filter the dusk/dawn event...

Yes -
Whatever you choose for your motion sensor, it will switch the next one on at dusk, off at dawn - say motion sensor set for A3, the lamp module will be A4, ON at night, off during the day.

And yes, you would need to keep A3 and A4 off of other modules, or they will be switched by the motion sensor.  A3 on motion, A4 on daylight.

I don't have a lot of experience doing these type of things in ActiveHome Pro, but the above has worked for me for years - no AHP required.

Yes -
Whatever you choose for your motion sensor, it will switch the next one on at dusk, off at dawn - say motion sensor set for A3, the lamp module will be A4, ON at night, off during the day.
