SC1200 won't record outgoing message

SC1200 won't record outgoing message. Any tricks or troubleshooting procedure?

Return it for an RMA.  I had the same problem with a recently purchased device.  I think it's a bad batch.  The one they sent me today is fine (at least it doesn't have that same problem.)
