PF284 or PSC01
« on: June 21, 2012, 12:05:06 PM »

Hi.  I've been trying to find any place that sells a PSC01 or PF284.  No success.  Any help would be appreciated.

Or, are there alternatives to the PSC01 or PF284?

The X10Pro PSC01 and X10 PF284 are discontinued as you probably have found out.

What exactly do you want the modules to send and do you need dry contact or low voltage trigger?

If you just need a dry contact closure to send an X10 On when closed and an X10 Off when opened. The Smarthome I/OLinc may do what you want. I have used a small optocoupler to trigger the I/OLinc from a low voltage source.

If you need the On Off cycle to trigger things like a Powerhorn then your best thing to do is keep searching X10 dealers and EBay for a PSC01 PF284.

I have one PSC01 left in my X10 devices inventory:  http://jvde.us/xtb/x10_FS.htm

(Sorry, my mistake.  The powerflash modules are gone, and I only have one PUM01 universal module left.)

Hi Brian,

The application is simple... notify me when my physical mail has been delivered. I used to use an eagle-eye wireless to do this, and via ActiveHome i triggered a sound and sent myself a text. But, in this house my mailbox is (way) out of range of the wireless. So, I thought I would just run a wire to the PF284.  I guess the simple answer to your question is I just need a dry contact sensor. I just looked at the Insteon as you said, and it looks right, but can it interface with X10?

Cheers

You can program a Primary X10 address into it for the sensor and one for the internal relay.
There is a link on the web page for the I/OLinc's Users Manual if you care to look at it.

I see Jeff still has one of the X10Pro PSC01 available.

Sorry, it actually was the PUM01 universal module.  I do have one Powerflash PF284 that I had used for testing, and hopefully that will be OK for him.

Thanks to all.   #:)

I'm getting the powerflash from Jeff.  Great forum.

Cheers. (And I will look into the IOLinc for education / futures.)

Jeff - If you do still have that PF284 (or a PSC01), I'd be interested in buying it.  OR, do you know of any sources that still have them?

Thx,  John

The status of the Powerflash modules seems quite cloudy.
Some independent dealers are saying discontinued but the Home Automation Store. Indicates they have a factory order for them expected to be delivered in early 2013.  :'

Yes, I do have a PowerFlash.  Please contact me privately if you want one.
