Airsight Wide Eye - Motion capture issues
« on: July 22, 2012, 06:00:41 PM »

So everything is working well after tweaking all day except the motion capture.  i can't for the life of me figure it out.  i set it to 5 (sensitivity) and have it set to email and record.  i even check off the spot to minimize false positives because of lighting.  However if i set it too sensitive all i get is images from the shadows of the trees moving.  if i bump it up to stop the shadows from setting it off not even my wife and the dog moving through the front yard will set it off, has anyone run into this issue? i would just set it to record 24/7 or interval (if posible) but it appears it will only record when the WEBUI is open and on live video?

Any help would be much appreciated.

I had the same issue.  Went with Blue Iris Camera software on a dedicated PC.  The software allows more control over triggers and you can block out areas you're not interested in.  Even has a cool feature that shows you exactly what is setting off your camera(s).  This has cut my false triggers by two-thirds.

It's going to be difficult to eliminate false triggers from moving shadows and trees.  The camera and/or software cannot distinguish between shadows and people/animals moving.
It will be a trial and error situation.
Yes, blueiris has alot more capabilities for masking/sensitivity/hot spots and does help alot, but still not perfect.
Software that is intelligent is also PRICEY!
I use blueiris and cannot say enough about how good it is!
Give it a try... the trial period is 15 days, and there is a huge forum that supports it.
it is cam-it.org.
The author of the software is VERY responsive and is VERY helpful!  His name is Ken.
He is a one man shop, and rivals many big companies!
