Hello Everyone,

I would really appreciate the help of any experts.  I own a UM 506 module (now discontinued).  It outputs an electrical signal from two contacts, 5A / 24 VDC

I also own a Trine 3024 Electric Strike, which, requires 24 DC @ .240 Amps / 100 OHMS

I tried to connect the Trine to the UM506, I turn on the UM 506 and the buzzer sounds but the trine strike does not activate.  I have it wires with one wire from the trine to each contact on the UM 506, I am thinking maybe I wired it wrong.

Could anyone chime in, any suggestions would be great! I was really hoping to use this for an internal door, I am bummed out now.  I am really hoping it's just a simple mistake :-(

The attached photo didn't show correctly.

The UM506 is like a remote controlled switch. It does not supply any voltage on the screws. The 24VDC 5A is the maximum power it can safely switch.

You need an external power supply to provide the power and use the UM506 to switch the it the 24 volts On and Off.

Hello,

My module had no instructions (due to age) and also ... I am new to this module.  So thank you both very much.

So would it be like this

UM506 - Two terminals
24vdc transformer

I will connect one wire of the transformer + 1 wire of the electric strike to one terminal, the other wire of the electric strike to the other terminal.  When activate, it will bridge the two terminals and complete circuit - thus activate strike.

Is that correct?

One terminal of the UM506 to one terminal of the 24 volt supply.
The other terminal of the UM506 to one of the strikes connection.
Wire from other terminal of the 24 volt supply to the other terminal of the strike.
