MS14A sleeping on the job?
« on: September 23, 2012, 06:05:31 AM »

Normally they will work correctly. But every now and then, I walk into the room and have to walk over to the MS14A and wave. Then the LED will blink and the lights come on.
Is it a sensing delay in the MS14A? Batteries are not that old.
This happens on two of them. Kitchen and Bedroom.

The bedroom 14A also does not turn the lights off occasionally. I also have a Remote keypad for the same lights in case I want them off quicker than 60 seconds. Normally, they work correctly. Recently the MS or the KP will not turn off the lights.

Any idea for a fix?

Thanks

If both the KP and the MS are occasionally missing controlling the lights. You may have a RF range problem to the transceiver or your power line has intermittent signal problems and the lights are missing the commands.

If the Motion Sensor did detect and then send a missed command. They have a built in time between detections. I believe it is 30 seconds minimum between detection messages.

Also the Motion Sensors are more sensitive when the subject is moving across its detection path then directly to and from it.
That could also be a contributing factor.
