SC1200 and motion sensor compatability
« on: November 02, 2012, 08:42:57 PM »

I have been researching this for a while but would like some input on the subject. I am trying to configure some motion sensors to activate the system while armed in "home" mode and all of them to activate in "away" mode. I have been reading about an older motion sensor, the "SP554A" (http://www.thex10shop.com/product/x10-sp554a-security-alarm-system-motion-sensor-with-chime-capability) which has a "Home Away / Normal" selector switch which may just foot the bill. When in Home Away Mode the sensor will only activate the system when armed away. When in Normal Mode it will activate when armed in both Home and Away. This would suit me great but I would like to know if it is compatible with the SC1200 console.
Thank you in advance.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The X10Shop is showing the sensor out of stock.
It should have worked with a SC1200. Though I remember seeing that some of its unique features didn't work correctly with both the DS7000 Kit and SC1200 Kits.

The X10shop still has some white ones in stock and there are some on ebay.

I remembered seeing something about the Home Away/Normal switch.
It was how it worked with a real old security console.
I found a X10 FAQ link and it indicated it did work with the DS7000 kits console.
http://www.x10.com/support/support_q14.htm
So I would imagine the SC1200 would also work.
