I found there is an old topic about this subject, that was never solved. Because it is more than 5 years old I repost the problem:
Active Home worked fine for me for a couple of years, recently I reinstalled my Windows XP environment (on a SSD) and also reinstalled Active Home.
When I start the program now it says:
An unhandled win32 exception error occurred in ActiveHm.exe [6200] (the number is always a different one.
When I start the debugger I get:
Unhandled exception at 0x1301ebc4 in ActiveHm.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x00000002.
What can be the cause of this. I tried to install the program on my c-drive and on my program-drive. No luck.
I also have X10 commander running that has no problem in finding the Pro15 interface so that seems to be running ok.

What version of AHP are you trying to load?

I am not really sure about the version. I downloaded the latest from internet, but when I start it the error message appears before I can do any requirements about the version.

I don't SELL this stuff... BUT I sure do ENJOY using it!!!

Where did you download it from?
Usualy hovering your mouse over the EXE file will display some info about the version.
Is this ActiveHome or ActiveHome Pro you've installed?
The Cm15a won't work with ActiveHome.

I use the version that is on the CD with the CM15pro interface. I found out that this is 3.0.0.251. This worked fine for me iuntil I did a complete reinstall of my windows xp environment.

Problem seems to be solved. After the question about the version I found there is a newer version Active Home 3.0.0.338.
I downloaded that and now it runs! Still don't know why the other version wouldn't because to my knowledge I reinstalled Windows XP just as it was before. But lets enjoy the moment!
Thanks for all the advices!

There is no Active Home  3.0.0.338.   Are you sure you are using Active Home or Active Home Pro?  The latest version for AH is 1.42.   Unless you are not in the USA.

CM15Pro is the European model and may have different software.
So 3.0.0.338 could be a legitimate version.

Dan Lawrence

That's very true, but the original poster did not bother to mention he was not in the US and Canada in his post, so we had no idea he wasn't from somewhere else.  I do know X10 is not just for the US and Canada, but the world.

I'm a little bit confused about my current version. Hovering over the exe gives 3.0.0.308 (sorry about the typo), when I ask the version with the help it says 3.316. I live in the Netherlands, but didn't assume that could be relevant for this question.

Dan Lawrence

It is relevant as X10 for European countries is different because of the electric differences. The US and Canada use 110 volts for lighting and our X10 equipment is built for us.  The X10 Forums are basically for the US/Canadian users but is you are from a country different please let us know in your initial post.

OK I understand now. I didnt know that this forum was for the USA/CAN users, because of the url I assumed it was for all of the X10 users. Sorry about that. I will look for a forum for the EU users.

Dan Lawrence

That's OK.  I believe there is a European forum on the Web that does for you what the X10 Community Forum does for us.

If there is a European X10 Forum it's well hidden. There's no mention at www.x10europe.com nor at www.marmitek.com.
