IP outdoor wireless, cannot connect over Internet

Hello,
I just installed the cameras and successfully could view them over my wireless network.  I was in a rush to leave on vacation and thought I could view over the Internet but must have missed a step or two because I cannot connect.   Will I have to wait to return home to get this to work or is there something I can do remotely to gain access?
