I'm a new member trying to figure out how to operate the forum.  Although Help tells me how to modify my profile, when I log in and go to it, I see only what looks like the "Information Normally Available to all Members."  There appears to be no page with a menu at the left allowing the member to edit profile items.  Am I doing something wrong, or is this just the way it is on the forum? -- jclarkw

You can't modify your Profile while your membership status is Newbie.

Thanks for the quick reply!  I suppose this also explains why I cannot see the public profiles of other members?

Is there any way to make sure that

1) my e-mail address is hidden from other members?   (I'm pretty sure I checked this option when I registered.)

2) I don't get unwanted e-mail copies of replies to my posts?

3) Also,.how long will I be "Newbie?"

Brian H

1) Shows as Hidden
2) Can't say as it does not show in my check.
3) Don't know for sure. I believe it is post count.

Your status has changed to Jr Member.
See if you profile is now an option.

Thanks much.  Now I can do everything I want except to view the public profiles of other members.  (I don't know if I'm supposed to be able to do that or not!)  The system tells me, "Many apologies, but you can't view just any profile." -- jclarkw

I don't believe profiles are public and what you are seeing is correct.
