H.264 sd will not work through window
« on: March 24, 2013, 07:50:17 PM »

Hi. Having problems with my H.264 sd working through window to view outside.
I decided I wanted to set it in a window to view my entry and it worked fine all afternoon and night. The next morning all I get is a white screen. Even tried setting it outside temporarly to test it with same result thinking I might have a reflection off of window causing it to have the white screen. It works fine when I turn it around to view inside of house. What went wrong?

If it works properly when you turn it to view the inside of the house your probably catching a reflection off the glass of the window.

That is why I temporarly put it outside to see if the glass was doing it, same result. Acts like the outside light is just to bright for it. I have tried adjusting the brightness levels in settings and makes no difference. Just strange it worked one day and not the next.

Maybe more sun shining in lens in the morning. Might try changing camera angle through the window, but any camera shooting through a window into sunlight will have similar problem. Also your IR LEDs for night time illumination will get filtered out through the window glass.

This is "outdoor" vs 50hz vs 60hz setting, that is very much hidden in the web interface, at least under chrome. You can find it under the "OSD" setting.
