Cheap electricity?

If this is for real, maybe we could get incandescents back.  :P

"His claimed discoveries, which exist only on paper so far"...

Yeah, isn't Tesla's "longitudinal waves" at about the same point of development?

While it may prove to be akin to desktop fusion, the inventor has a track record of real accomplishments and the reporter also has a solid reputation. Of course, they both could be suffering from OGS.

Or.... with billions and billions of tax dollars already stolen from the American taxpayer in the name of green energy.... maybe they just decided that fools and their money should be parted.

Sun, wind, water power, and beast of burden (horses, donkeys, mules, water buffalo's... and so on). All have served mankind as energy sources since before we had written words to record it. These low power energy sources are well known.... and extremely limited. Our future doesn't belong to the technologies from the past. These things are always are ALWAYS hoaxes, scams, and fraud.

This guy has also filed a patent (which he promises to publish soon on his web page) covering what he calls a super incandescent light bulb that's more efficient (350 lumens per watt) than CFLs or LEDs.

Seems to good to be true. Can this secret have eluded GE, Phillips, Sylvania, etc for the last 50 years?

Reminds me of the "Oglemobile" of the 1970's.

It may well be too good to be true - I'm not evaluating it as I'm not a physicist - I just thought it worth sharing since it was published in a reputable news outlet by a reporter who has a good record.

However, there was no incentive for GE, Philips, Sylvania, et al to investigate any improvement to incandescents until they were outlawed rather recently (largely due to lobbying by Philips and others). And, then, it was easier to make high profits on CFLs than it was to investigate improvements to a 25 cent commodity.

And, that may be a problem even if this guy knows what he's doing. Will people be willing to pay enough more for an incandescent to justify GE, et al to restart their production lines or possibly invest in new processes? The inventor seems to think they'll be cheap and that electric utilities might want to supply them free in lieu of building new generating plants.

I don't think it matters. Why would GE or any other American corporation what to manufacture... anything. There has rarely large been profits in raw materials or retail sales. And now.... in todays marketplace with todays EPA... there is even less profit in manufacturing. American corporations today are morphing into office buildings full of lawyers who negotiate logo placement and percentage of sales deals with Chinese manufactures.
