I have 1-SS13a controlling 5 fluorescent fixtures. Each fixture is 240 watts or 2 amps @ 120VAC. I have 1-TM 751 transceiver located about six feet horizontally from the SS13a. and 5 AM 466 appliance modules, 1 for each fixture. the first switch on the SS13a controls 2 fixtures about 10 and 15 feet from the SS13a, the second switch controls 2 fixtures about 20 and 30 feet away and the third switch on the SS13a controls 1 fixture about 10 feet away. All fixtures are 8 foot high. The building is a concrete floor open commercial building and has no obstructions except for some parked cars. The lights do not come on and off consistently. I cannot have the SS13a more that 10 feet (if that) from the transceiver or it doesn't work at all. The dimmer on the SS13a is not being used. I have switched phases on the transceiver, moved it up high in the center of the lights and nothing works. What am I doing wrong?

You want the TM751 on the same phase as the appliance modules. I would not mount it close to the fluorescent fixtures as the older TM751s have a superregenerative receiver which might be affected by radiation from the fixtures. Finally, try this...

The range on the SS13 has always been poor. You might try a Palmpad remote. http://www.smarthome.com/4001X/X10-HR12A-Wireless-X10-Remote-Control/p.aspx

I have mounted two on walls and although not as pretty as the SS13, they have better range and easier sourced batteries.
