FYI all my systems took advantage of the upgrade to 10.
We had absolutely No issues at all. AHP is working, IHouse is working and my BlueIris4 is rolling along with not a single issue. Lucky or not. any obstacles it had was fixed easily by windows as well as having the backward compatibility option which actually works. We still have no access to Cortana yet in Canada. One of my sons did change the region to the USA and seems to have fun with it. I have a group of 3 teenage boys with a strong lust for Online Multiplayer Games. I keep very little if any important information on any computer, Have a laptop with no WiFi for personal and business dealings.
For us is was kinda fun when the upgrade came up and we went ahead with the install. But no doubt in my mind all my systems seem to be running smoother and confidant to say faster. I took advantage of the upgrade for the fact it was Free and Free always has some cost. Look at all the apps and OS's on our phones now a days. I have a variety of systems from a H/P to Custom built with both Intel as well as AMD chips high end systems to an old clunker. Not a single problem, some did longer than others to upgrade but within 2 hours it was done. If you don't like it then you can always go back to the OS you had before.
One recommendation is not do anything to your system, like removing files or shifting things around, Backup only. Leave it be. Only make sure any updates to any files, or system files or BIOS is up to date, cant promise but it should be smooth. go ahead take the plunge.
