The use of Microsoft Windows is huge and many people use a laptop to browse the WEB for hours. This would also expand the market beyond IOS and Android.

I've been told this will not happen. :(
QuoteUnfortunately,  the ‘configurable from PC’ will probably have to be a community thing.  This was designed to configure and use completely PC free and designing a computer program behind it for the handful of people that would want it would probably not be a great investment of our resources and time.
However they have stated code will be released latter so that the community could create something.
Also I have been able to set this up via a windows laptop so with a little help of an android emulator it is possible now.

I believe we would be more likely to see a web interface which any OS could access from any browser. ::) :'

If they release the protocol, user created interfaces for Windows, RPi, Arduino and more will likely follow.

I can imagine myself using an Android phone at some point. I am NOT anti-Android. But a Windows based phone? Maybe someday. I don't like to use the word never. But I can't see myself using a Windows based phone in the near future.

The Windows Phone project is dead.

Remote control is cool,
but automation rules!

So what would be the point? So a few old guys (like ourselves) could use our desktops to setup our WM100's.... OK.

It would be really nice if the WM100 could be set up and controlled from a PC.
It would also be nice if the unit didn't have to be unplugged to sync phones.
