When the WM100 ends, I suppose X10 will turn off the server...... and that will be that for this latest device?

Technology advances and improves
DAILY. Some of these changes are all good. I paid over a $1000 for a 40 inch 720p flat panel 16/9 TV a few years ago... a better and bigger TV is less than $200 today. But some other technologies…. like my app controlled remote controls... went under. Their severs went dark and they became trash. That wasn't fun.
Some of us here have opposite views on how to deal with the direction Home Automation technology is heading. But to the best of my knowledge... no one here actually has any control of the future.
