Question; does anyone know why this player doesn't work in any but the Internet explorer Browser? I use this browser to view a few Cameras, while away.

Tried to place an actual picture of the player here, but, I couldn't get it to attach. Thanks all

Moose

First, what is it and where did you get it?  ??? I cannot find it with Google.

I'm not familiar with Anyview but I do know that a lot of the Chinese developed viewer apps for cameras will only work on Explorer.  The software to view my NVR is like that, as well as the viewer for Foscam cameras.  You can create a shortcut that will open the app in Explorer.

Whatever you’re using to view your cameras I hope you’re behind a reputable VPN and not viewing via port forwarding directly from your router. Normally those IP cameras have their own apps that allow you to view feeds remotely without having to use a browser directly.

I attached a picture of the anyview player here. Hopefully someone sees this, it has been a while. Please let me know if the file shows up

Now I will wait to see if anyone knows why this viewer doesn't work in anything but internet explorer...

Moose

I believe the reason is that the software viewers and even direct IP access requires Active X which is not supported by Chrome, Edge or Firefox, only IE 11.

Mic_

That sounds like the answer. Thanks much...When IE goes away, I am pretty much done then? I don't believe anything else will support active X; sounds true?

Moose

Probably, But it may be around for a while. I have recently stepped away from my older cameras that needed Active X. I did not like the phone apps at all. They required too much data and too much battery to use.

I use the IP Camera Viewer app by Richard Chou and have yet to find a camera that won't work with it. Most cameras will work with multiple viewers so just because the viewer is obsolete doesn't mean the Camera can't be used with another viewer.

The Viewer app by Richard Chou; is it available out there? Is the viewer called ? Thanks

brobin

It's called 'IP Cam Viewer' by Robert Chou and supports both Android and IOS devices. You can find it in whatever app store you use such as Google Play, Amazon or Apple.
