Switches/modules with switchable light/appliance modes
« on: June 29, 2023, 11:29:00 AM »

Just a thought:

For me, one of the more frustrating things about planning an X10 setup is that switches/modules seem to have it baked in whether they respond to the all-lights-on/off messages.  Sometimes you want to control an appliance (like a fan) with a light switch, and sometimes you want to control a light source with a plugin relay-based (rather than triac-based) module.

Long story short, it'd be great if there was a hidden toggle switch on switches and modules to control whether they responded to all-lights-on/off.

It is programmed into the firmware as you have found.
The Appliance Types that can have loads that you would not want to have come on usually do not follow the all on commands. Safety was mentioned.
Appliance modules will also not turn On with an All Lights On command.
