I give up..
« on: July 16, 2005, 11:30:11 PM »

I gave it the college try this evening, even
tried to report some problems.  However, out
of about 6 timed events this evening, it
fired only 3 (and none were recorded in the
History).
It was random.  From the computer I can
easily turn everything on and off (as i
should, the old AH runs weeks without a
missed event).  But some things turned on and
not off, and others turned off and not on.

I was really hopeful, but..... it's just not
production quality.

It goes back
/j

PS - is the Smarthome 1132 (or whatever it's
called) really much better?

Jeff, I gave up also and jumped fence to
SmartHome Manager Plus and 1132CU.

The CM15A simply isn't reliable, but worse
it seems impossible to find out why it is un-
reliable. (Or maybe X10 knows and isn't
saying).

The SmartHome 1132 works better (reliably)
than CM15A, but the 1132 has its own set of
problems.

SmartHome still appears to have Dallas clock
problems, (I am on my second 1132, the first
lost time like crazy) the software has some
quirks (like it changes "event" icons for no
reason), and the 1132 does not support flags
or RF.

It is unfortunate X10 can not fix the CM15A
and AHP, because functionally it is superior
to the 1132CU with SmartHome Manager Plus
software.

Geez, it sounds like my old AH is the best of
the bunch.

I have my X10 DS7000 Security System
activate macros(when alarm triggered)on my
1132cup. The 1132cup has performed perfect
for several months in all functions(several
complex macros in addition to alarm macros)
without having to reconnect to the computer
every few days. As far as RF capability, an
inexpensive RR501 transceiver works better
then my retired CM15A.

Ray,

You need an RF transceiver that can hear the
DS7000 RF transmissions, like a V572AB made
by WGL & Associates
(www.wgl@wgldesigns.com)  or through
SmartHome (www.smarthome.com).

Ray: I have created on 1132cup -if sequence
is recognized (trigger sequence being - all
lights on / all units off for housecode that
the DS7000 is set to, to start events I want
to happen on another housecode. I have My
DS7000 on housecode B. When alarm is
triggered, the modules set to B flash on and
off. (Sequence trigger on 1132cup - all
lights on / all units off on housecode B).
This starts an event on 1132cup to turn on
all lights on housecode A and then turn them
off after 45 minutes. With this setup I have
every light inside and outside come on when
DS7000 is in alarm mode.
