xcam2 and wideeye camera hooking upto pc
« on: August 25, 2005, 04:07:11 PM »

Hello

I just bought the Xcam2 and wideeye
indoor/outdoor wireless camera system.  My
question is i figured i would not need to
buy the pc hook up device since my computer
has a tv in line.  When i installed the
software i kept get an error.(Unable to
initialize the device)  I have installed
the video capture drivers(nvidia most
current). I noticed when Xray vision
installs, it also installs the usb device
that hooks up the camera to a pc.  Is there
a way to reconfigure so its not looking for
that device but will use my video card in
instead. I also found this in a log file
25/08/2005 3:56:51 PM: Cannot initialize
video capture device.

Thank you
Nat

As far as I understand, the X10 software is
only designed to work with the X10 hardware
(in this case, teh VA11A USB Video Adapter.
I was able to find one for myself on eBay,
at a significantly lower price than retail.

you need the VA11A USB Video Adapter to use
your cameras with AHP but you don't need it
for xray vission . Xray will allow you to
use other capture devices but you have to
tell it which to use in the setup by default
it wants to use the VA11A USB Video Adapter.
