I have purchased 2 of the 20 amp 220v
appliance modules to use with air
conditioners and they do nothing... What's
wrong? I plug them in and they do not power
the air conditioner... Thoughts?

Do you need to turn the air conditioner on
manually when power is present (through a
remote control)? My 220V a/c only comes on if
I press the ON button, so if the A/C is on,
and I unplug it, when I plug it back in, it
will not start unless I turn it on by remote.

Tom,
When you turn the 220V appliance module ON
and OFF, does it clunk?...can you hear the
relay? If they are working you should hear
the relay clicking.

Do you have a phase coupler?  The two-wire
and plug-in (both 3 and 4 pin) phase
couplers cause the X10 signal to have the
same potential on both phases.  Since the
220V modules get the signal from across the
phases, the potential difference will be
zero and the module won't work.  If you
want to use 220V modules you need to use
either a 4-wire phase coupler or a
coupler/repeater.

I use the HD245 to control my electric
fireplace also my window A/C in my shop next
door in the garage. NO Problems. Maybe you
module is defective. I did have to replace
on after about 4 months.
