I have a room that does not want to
cooperate. It worked for a while with an
appliance module but I moved the module to
another room for a bit, then brought it
back. Now it wont work.  And I've tried
several different modules in the room that
work elsewhere in the house.  What gives?
And is there an easy fix if it is a 'common'
problem?

My first question is do you have a phase

Do you have any new electronic gadgets, like
a new computer TV etc? Some generate noise
that can kill X10 devices. Coupling the
phases as Dave said helps many people and
maybe the first thing to look at.

Filters would be the second option to
consider. If you have a computer, TV, or
any other major appliance… it may be
causing noise on the power line.  You can

I agree with both Brian H. and AccessHA
that electronic device(s) could be either
creating noise or absorbing the X10
signal.  However, adding a phase coupler
will solve 90% of all X10 communication
problems so anyone who is serious about
using X10 should have one.  In my mind,
there is no point even trying to debug the
problem if you don’t have some sort of
phase coupler.  If you are having problems
and you do have a phase coupler I wrote a
