Eagle eye Address
« on: October 09, 2008, 07:34:05 PM »

When using an eagle eye, (D1) am I correct that I must leave the next higher address(D2) free, for the off command? (unless I want D2 to trigger an event).
Do other modules use two addresses for on and off command
Thanks?

That is correct.

If I understand your question, No, other modules do not use two addresses for ON and OFF command, but then neither does the Eagle Eye.

The first address (D1 in your example) is used ONLY for movement. Movement will trigger a D1 ON command. Lack of movement for some specified time (i.e. 6 minutes) causes the Eagle Eye to send a D1 OFF command. The second address (D2) is used for light/dark or sun-up, sun-down, commands. When the Eagle Eye sees light (sun-up) a D2 ON command is sent. When it goes dark (or sun down) a D2 OFF command is sent. So two address are used,  but for for two different functions.
