XPFM Module
« on: January 04, 2006, 03:01:37 PM »

I want to use X10 to control an overhead
incandescant light fixture. I know I could
easily use an X10 switch for this, but I
don't like the style/appearance of the X10
switches and prefer the old-fashioned
toggle switch. I'm wondering if I could
place an XPFM module inline before the
standard toggle switch to control the
light. I realize the toggle switch would
have to be in the on position for the X10
on/off commands to work. Also wondering if
the XPFM module would work similar to a
normal lamp module in that if the XPFM was
in the off state and I wanted to switch the
light on from the toggle switch I could
simply flip the toggle switch off and on to
turn the light on. I appreciate any
comments.

I don't think the XPFM has a local sensing
circuit in it as it is designed to be inside
the fixture. Also it would need the neutral
wire where it is connected as it needs both
the hot and neutral wire and then the load
is wired to the output lead and neutral wire
lead. I have a few; unused right now; myself.
On the X10Pro web site you can download the
install sheet if you care to.
