I ordered a second CM-15a when they were
offering the "all for $49" deal.

Can I used both cm15a at the same time?

One will be controlling timers, macro and rf.
The other will have NO programming, I want
to use it for rf only.

Will this work?

As far as I know, NO.  Windows will not
accept both on the same machine.

If you have 2 PC's, yes, it will work, but
each CM-15A will have to address different
modules on separate housecodes to prevent
conflicts.

To clarify.
Both units are stand alone. (No USB
connected)

One with timer, macro downloaded and RF "ON"

Second with NO timer or macro loaded, ONLY
RF turned "ON"

The point is to gain another rf device.

Should work. The unprogramed one is just
like an expensive Tranceiver. All house code
if you don't turn off some of the house
codes.

Actually as an all house code tranceiver it
ould be the cheapest one I have seen. Though
if the main one is using a tranceived house
code; you may want to turn off thet one in
the second unit if it interferes.

I guess my question is more for the x-10
guys.

How is the anti-collision properties of the
cm-15a when used together.  Will they play
nice together if one in configured as a RF
only transceiver?

I have 2 CM15's online since last summer.
"ONE" is disconnected from the PC and
centrally located in the home. "TWO" is
connected 24/7 and does the iWitness stuff
and a few other odd macro jobs. Both contain
macros and timers.  I purposefully set "TWO"
to NOT transceive any of the housecodes that
"ONE" was working.  I made a simple antenna
mod to "ONE" by pulling the excess (in the
box)antenna wire out the top of the "existing
antenna, soldering another 9 or 9.5 inches
forgot what I measured, to the end of the
first, glued a thin hollow antenna tube to
the whoe thing and put it back in the utility
room.  Viloa, my range covers the entire
house and some outside now and both CM15's
are sharing the load.  I use the connected
CM15 to monitor PLC's traveling on the wire
etc... It has been working pretty darn well
for months now.  The only problem that STILL
exists is the CM15's inability to handle 2 or
more incoming motion (rf) signals within a
second of each other.  If they are on top of
each other, one will be ignored.  Nothing we
can do about that, it is a hardware/software
problem.  The CM15's need a store and forward
architecture much more robust than now
exists.  All in all, my cm15 pair setup works
pretty well.

Oh, now if I had them both set to transceive
one of my most used RF housecodes, as I did
try once, things get a bit confused...smile

Hi Scott,

If I am not mistaken, you are trying to use
a repeater or singal booster.  I don't know
if the RF can be disable on AHP unit.  If
RF can not be disable, YES, you will have a
very strange results.  But if you put one
of the unit in an area where signal is
weak, or 220 line where 110 goes one end of
the house and the other 110 goes to
another, this could be a cheap soulution
for it.  This may actually better the those
X10 signal booster from SmartHome.
Anyway, I did removed one of the AHP unit
in order for x10 to function properly,
because the units were too close.
