Some progres on my own question. Seems the
problem is not Ver 3.173. Look at the
question by KEL on the CM15A clock problem
in the "Genersl Comments" forum. After I
downloaded the new version of software, I
unplugged my interface for a FEW SECONDS to
plug in the USB cable to add a new timer.
Apparently the CM15A DOES NOT keep proper
time when unplugged from an outlet
(batteries were brand new). When this
happens, the clock gets off and when you re-
connect to computer, you get "USB Device
Not Recognized" - apparently related to
the interface clock. After reading the
posts to KEL's question, I removed the
batteries, re-connected to computer and
everything worked as normal. Apparently
there is a serious hardware problem with at
least some of the CM15A Interface Modules
where the clock does not run properly on
batteries. Read the posts to KEL's
comments - Over 80 reports of timers not
working simply by moving the Interface to
another outlet - even with fresh batteries!
