Download failures
« on: January 18, 2005, 08:30:02 PM »

I have been having intermittent failures when
trying to download and update to the program
to the controller.  Today it shifted into
overdrive.  The downloads kept failing and
attempting to repeat and then failing again
and this went on for over half an hour during
which time nothing that was supposed to
happen happened.  All macros didn't execute,
timers didn't do anything, etc.

Anybody else have this problem?  Anyone know
how to fix it?  X10?????  X10????

We have seen this problem here. The easiest
way out of it is to exit ActiveHome Pro,
unplug the CM15A from power, and remove the
batteries. Then connect everything again and
run ActiveHome Pro.

X10 Pro:

the problem with that is that I can never
count on being able to reopen Activehome.  I
seem to be able to open it once for every
method I try.  I try clicking on AHP.exe and
that works once.  The next time I have to try
clicking on my own file and then I have to
open it by clicking on the sample file.  You
can see why I don't rush to close the app.

What version of Windows are you running on?
What version of ActiveHome Pro?

Copy of Forum Item + extra Text:
downloads don't work the first time.
Holger  1/19/2005 11:59 PM

what I do if a 'hang-up' or missbaviour of
the CM15A occured:  I remove the CM15A from
the Mains, remove  the battery(s).  Returned
the battteries, plug the unit back into
mains, connect USB, run AHP S/W ->
download.
The following tests I run to assure the
download has worked.  I switch a known
action via palmpad - appliance module, then
I trigger a Macro which activates a 'chime'
unit via palmpad +  a 2nd test,I kick off
the same macro via a mouse click.
If these tests fail, I download a second
time +, +... until all tests are working.
Why I do this?
After the first download, the CM15A seems to
work - commands from palmpad relayed through
CM15A, the S/W is doing something, but not
everything is working correct !
After I do all the above described tests the
CM15A worked as expected, despite the fact
that the working duration of my Unit is max.
5 days - see Forum.
