Erratic Behavior
« on: February 01, 2005, 03:07:02 PM »

Couple of issues:
1. Once everything is working fine. The
remote will stop responding.
2. The remote will work for ON but not for
OFF and vice versa.
3. The macros will stop working or will turn
on and off stuff at odd times.
4. Run the macro on the computer with the
interface connected. All module will work,
10 minutes later all will work except one
module. Anohter try, the one that was
working will not work and one that was not
working will work.

The only thing that does make a little bit
of performance improvement is unplugging
CM15 and them plugging it back in but I feel
that should not be the solution.

I have a CM15A and a winXP pc. No other
receivers. Using wall switches and one lamp
module.

AR: Are you talking about controlling modules
with the remote, or only triggering macros?
Do you have other transceivers? Have you
tried using the CM15A in a different
electrical outlet?

(2). What kind of lamps are you controlling?
Some CFLs are problems. I had one brand that
made noise so if they where ON the signals
didn't get there, but if OFF could turn them
ON but again not OFF. Is your computer on a
UPS or Surge Strip? Some can degrade the X10
Line Signals.

After upgrading (really Down grading) to
3.177, I couldn't load AHP on my XP system.
After I got rid of that and loaded the
original version I started with (v 3.168),
everything worked the way it used to, except
I can't control any lamp modules with my
PalmPad remote through the CM15A. I am
afraid to upgrade to 3.178. Wish I knew how
to get the remote to work.

no other transceiver being used. Both
macros trigger or directly sendg on off
commands work in mysterious ways. i have
regular bulbs on regular lamps. One lamp
has a lamp module and the ceiling light is
being controlled by the wall switch with
regular bulbs. I have tried plugging the
cm15a in various outlets and still the same.
