Timed Macros DO NOT work
« on: January 29, 2005, 07:55:45 PM »

I have not gotten timed macros to work EVER
in the CM15A while connected to the
computer.  I have unchecked both places in
the macro and the advanced settings so as
not to store in the interface.  I have set
the monitored house code to the same as the
macro (trying to do one RF command) and
NOTHING.  Someone tell me what I have done
wrong (besides purchasing a CM15A)...

This feature should work just fine. If you
send your .AHX file to ahpsupport@x10.com
I'll take a look and see if I can find the
problem.

Its on its way.  It has one macro that
turns on H5 at some given time.
Good Luck (that means I hope it does not
work for you either because if it does it
gets me nowhere).  Thanks

I noticed that the RF bug in macros (this
thread origin) should be fixed tomorrow in
the next release of AHP 3.179????  I will
hold my breath....

David K
This problem has been discussed for some
time, and maybe misunderstood by X10, yet
still exists.  To confirm, I set up a test
mod and macro with timer not saved to
interface.  Module works, macro fires module
from screen button, but macro does not start
from timer.  This is the case whether RF or
PLC is used.

One other thing I found...if you change the
module code the macro automatically shows
that change...but continues to activate
former setting of module anyway.  The macro
must be edited (delete the old module code
and drag in the new code) to work correctly,
yet still will not work from timer.  All this
pertains to not being saved in the interface.
FWIW, I run XPPro, SP1.  I'm connected to
the the interface and computer is on 24/7.

The entire reason I bought this upgrade
with smart macros was so I could have timed
conditional macros.  I set flags based on
whether I'm on vacation or not, whether
I'll be going to work etc so for example my
electric blanket won't turn on while I'm
off skiing for a week in Tahoe.  Until
timed conditional macros work, this whole
thing is pretty useless since my old CM11
worked just fine.  My question is when will
this be fixed?  I've sent my file to
ahpsupport@x10.com and got one follow up
question reply but no timetable on when I
can expect this to work as advertised.  Are
you making any progress?  What's
happening???

Dale: We're still looking at the data you
sent. The problem reported by David K and Win
S has to do with timers not stored in the
interface. They definitely aren't working
right, and we will fix them soon.

Conditional timers stored in the interface is
slightly different, and I don't have an
answer yet. I hope to soon. We did find a bug
(thanks to another user) where the Clear Flag
command wasn't being stored correctly, which
would definitely affect your timers. We do
want you to be able to use ActiveHome Pro in
the way you intended when you bought it.

Thank you for your response, I really
appreciate it.  It's good to hear that it's
a bug that is being worked on.  I wish you
swift success.

I think we've found the problem. We're going
to do some testing, but I think we should get
this resolved in the next release.

I spent some time with the CM15A and the
software package for Activehome Pro and
Smart Macros.  I ended up getting an RMA
and sending the CM15A back.  The major
problem is with the CM15A and I would not
recommend purchasing one until X10.com
fixes their design issue.  If they ever fix
this thing, I will get another, but it
might be some time....
