Switch not responding to timer on command
« on: December 30, 2004, 08:03:38 PM »

I'm about ready to toss X10 in the garbage.
I replaced the switch for my front porch
lights with a HC30WD I have 2 end table
lights with the socket rocket adapters. Both
are set to on at dusk, no off time (we turn
them off before bed) The end table lights
have no problems and come on every night,
the porch light switch however works maybe 3
or 4 nights, then I have to clear the
CM15A's memory and re-download the timers,
it works for a few days, then I have to
clear and re-download again. I have the palm
remote and it turns the lights on and off
with no problems so it's not a phase (I have
a phase coupler anyway)or signal strength
issue. I tried setting an on time manually
rather than using the dusk feature with the
same results. Any ideas here?

Make sure the command is executing. Check
ACTIVITY MONITOR to see if the switch is
being sent an on command. You might have to
use a different module to send the switch
an "ON" command rather than a BRIGHT 100%
command. Use an appliance module instead of
a lamp module.

I too have had no luck with controlling
Leviton Switchs from the X10...on macros /
timers. They work fine locally, and I can
run the macros fine from the computer
directly, but stored in the CM15A they have
not worked once. Mine are not the 'fancy'
HC30 series, but the older 'Red Line'
product. They used to work just fine with
the CM11A.

Any progress on this?  I have same issue as
other user ..."No luck with controlling

I am having the same problem. I have a
macro that turns on 3 lights and ring a
chime triggered by a motion sensor.  It
will work fine 3 or 4 days then all of a
sudden the lights turn on but the chime
stops chimming.  The activity monitor says
the command to ring the chime was sent, but
no chime.  Have to do several cold starts
to get it back.  I have my computer
connected to the CM15A 24/7 with AHP
running.
Thanks,
T.
