I've had AHP running for several weeks now
without any problems. I have no macros,
nothing downloaded to the cm15a, just using
the computer for everything. Last night I
installed iWitness and it worked perfectly
with one camera. I only using one for the
time being. Then the camera became frozen and
one of my motion detectors was logging an on
command repeatedly until I shutdown the
computer. After a reboot everything was fine
for a while and the same thing happened. I
was viewing a camera feed again. I again
rebooted. Normal logging took place all night
and was fine this morning without the AHP
application running. (only the services) When
I got home from work tonight I had over 114,
000 + log entries from one of the motion
detectors. Another application I have also
logs motion activity and had no entries
except the one that started the loop. I have
many motion detectors and they are all
working perfectly so it must be a software
issue. I think iWitness is great and will be
very happy when the bugs are gone. For what
its worth, all the bashing being done, is
unfounded from everyone that hasn't tried
writing software for every hardware
configuration known to man. Keep up the good
work, it is appreciated by some at least.

Glendoo,

You might want to check the batteries in the
motion sensors. When they start to get week
the revert to house code A1 and transmit at
a irregular interval. I had this happen to
me . I had a light set to house code A1 and
it keep turning on. It ended up being a
motion sensor with bad batteries.

Thanks for the reply. I thought the same
thing and replaced the batteries but
unfortunately that wasn't it. The loop
contunued even with the batteries out! Last
night I deleted the camera in the AHP
application. This morning up until I left for
work all was well. I think I'll be able to
narrow in down to something simple
eventually, but am interested in similar
events others are having. And naturally
solution ideas also. ( I only have a few
hours invested with iWitness so far, but see
the great potential if the web interface
becomes reality. (I don't doubt it will.....)

was it free?

While this was happening could you control
lights with a remote control? Was the command
one that would have been transceived, either
by the CM15A or another transceiver. If your
remote and lights continuted to work during
the occurrence, then it sound like maybe AHP
was generating commands into Activity Monitor
on its own.

OK, lots of questions, yes I could control
devices with the remote while the loging was
going on.
No, the command was recieved via rf only, not
plc. It was transmitted by the cm15a. I have
a seperate reciever that does not re-
transmit.
I think it was AHP sending rf commands to the
cm15a, but I couldn't find a way to stop it.
Now it occurs to me I could have disconnected
the cm15a! Tonight I will put a camera back
in the senario if everything was OK today.
I'll post the results tomorrow morning.

I figured out what the problem is/was. It
worked fine all night with the camera I added
last night until this morning when I
disconnected the video feed to the va11. I
was going to change cameras, and after about
5 to 10 seconds with the video source
disconnected, the looping started. Now that I
know not to leave the camera "live" and
without a video feed, there is no problem. I
am curious about the possibility of trapping
this since a wireless feed sometimes gets
swamped by other RF. I have a wired camera
connected now, and maybe with the video
receiver it wouldn't happen anyway. Would it
be possible to incorporate a on/off toggle
for a live video feed? I created a switch
with the same house and unit code as the
camera to shut it off. Clicking on the Live
button pops up the view window instead of
turning it off.
