Problems W/timers and Hawkeye Motion Sensor
« on: August 14, 2005, 08:32:17 PM »

I have been a loyal customer of X10
products for about 20 years. I had used the
serial port version of "Active Home" on
Windows 98. When I saw the new vresion
of "Active Home" Pro, I immediately
upgraded. This has been an expense that has
caused nothing but problems and fustrations
with the "X10" system. My outside lights
will not go on if the computer is on. If I
try to turn the lights on using the
computer and module, the light will not go
on, but if I use a mini-controller the
light works fine. The Hawkeye motion sensor
fails to work more times than it works.
The "Serch for other computers" randomly
shows anywhere from 3 to 5 "Other"
systems.  I am seriously considering going
back to the "OLD" serial cable system.

Is there hope or new releases for the
software coming soon????

Can't answer all the points. I can say that
I had a X10 Line Signal problem with my
computer's UPS sucking up a large part of my
signals. I ended up using an X10 designed
filter between the outlet and the computers
UPS power code. Your computer maybe making
line noise. Also if you are using the
cm15a's as a tranceiver. Check in Tools
Hardware tab. Tranceived House Codes.
Sometimes the remote or motion sensors house
code is not tranceived enabled.
