Won't Group Lamp and Appliance Modules
« on: October 27, 2005, 02:21:55 PM »

If I have an appliance module on A1 and a
lamp module on A2, the AHP software won't
group them to have them turn off
simultaneously unless they are in the same
room and you do a Room_All_Off.  I can
understand why when turning them on it
doesn't group them since it uses ON for the
Appliance module and a series of Bright/Dim
commands for the lamp module (although it
would be nice if it grouped them anyway, by
turning them on, and then sending the
Bright/Dim commands).  When turning them off,
they all get sent the off command, so why
can't it group them so they all turn off
simultaneously?

In my situation, I want a macro to turn the
closet light (wall switch) and bedside lights
(appliance modules), which have CFLs and are
on different addresses, but leave the TV on
(yes it is a very old TV that doesn’t have a
remote so I use an appliance module).  When
run, the macro will first turn the closet
light off and then both bedside lights.  I
would like all 3 to turn off at the same
time.  If I use Room_All_Off it will turn off
the TV as well.  I could declare the closet
light as both a lamp and appliance module and
use the appliance module definition to turn
it off, but I shouldn’t have to do that.
