DCM and RST
Multiview/Webview will allow you to view
snapshots of up to 4 cameras over the
internet (up to 1 image every 4 seconds).
It doesn’t provide true streaming
capabilities. Additionally, it will only
record snapshots to your hard drive at a
similar interval. So you wouldn’t be able
to record full motion video. X10 is working
on a Streaming XRAY Vision software
solution but I’m not sure it allows you to
actually record.
There are several software products that
can handle streaming video over the net and
record to your HD, but you would be happier
with a hardware solution. If you don’t want
to spend a lot of money, you may want to
investigate something like the AVerMedia
Smart Guard. It’s a cost effective MPEG4
compression card with 4 video inputs. You
can watch all four cameras simultaneously
at roughly 30FPS with a resolution of
320X240. It also has the ability to record
to your HD either when motion is detected
or full time.
Hope that helps point you in the right
direction.
